ALL BABIES are special. But the bundles of joy that turned up for a Christmas party at Gillingham’s Black Lion Leisure Centre on Saturday are extra special.

Many of them would not have survived to see their first Christmas had it not been for the care they received at the Oliver Fisher Neonatal Unit, at Medway Maritime Hospital.

Dr Aung Soe, the consultant who heads the unit, is pictured with baby Connor Haden, who spent eight weeks there when he arrived 11 weeks prematurely.
