An accident at a busy junction blocked a lane and caused rush-hour delays.

KCC Highways reported a collision on the A229 Medway-bound on Blue Bell Hill, near Chatham, this evening.

Police were in attendance and motorists being advised to approach with caution.

Delays had cleared by 7pm.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews were called at 5pm to reports of a crash on the A229 Blue Bell Hill.

“One fire engine attended, and crews assisted with scene safety. Duty of care was left with Kent Police.”
