Maidstone Crown Court, where Judge Statman heard the latest allegation
A police officer accused of a sexual offence has had a third allegation of perverting the course of justice added to the charges.
PC Paul Traynier, of Cliffe Road, Strood, has denied sexually assaulting a girl, aged 12, between May 13 2009 and May 14 2010, two charges of perverting the course of justice and misconduct in public office.
The 39-year-old former Special Constable appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday by TV link from Elmley Prison on the latest allegation.
Judge Philip Statman was told that the officer’s parents, John and Sheila Traynier, have also been accused of perverting the course of justice.
Traynier’s girlfriend Tracey Sales, 36, of Cliffe Road, Strood, has denied aiding, abetting or procuring Traynier to sexually assault a girl and perverting the course of justice.
The trial date has been set for August 12.
Traynier, who won The Medway Special of the Year award in 2010, is in custody.
Mother-of-three Sales, who works at a fast food restaurant in Strood, is on conditional bail.
