Police were called after a two-year-old boy was found on his own in Rainham.

He was found alone in Plomley Close, Parkwood on Sunday afternoon.

It is thought he was found by someone living in the street, who then called 999 and stayed with the child until officers arrived.

A spokesman Kent Police said: "Kent Police were called at 1pm on Sunday, November 10, to a reported concern for welfare for a young boy in Gillingham.

A report on a Facebook page by someone living in the street said: "Whole thing lasted for around 50 minutes."

Police confirmed that social services were informed.
