Man who died after fall from M2 motorway bridge into River Medway named as Resham Bindra, 64, from Dartford

A man who died after falling from the M2 motorway bridge into the River Medway has been named.

Resham Bindra, 64, from Dartford was pulled from the river on Saturday, May 21 after a search by the police and coastguard following reports of concern for his welfare.

An inquest into his death was opened on Thursday and today the coroner's office said a full inquest will take place in August.

Mr Bindra was found on the Cuxton side of the bridge and it is thought paramedics performed CPR for almost an hour.

The police helicopter and the coastguard helicopter were both called to help in the search.
