A motorist had to be freed from the wreckage of her car following a crash on the A228 near Hoo.

This picture was taken by Medway Messenger reader Stanley Arrowsmith, who lives in Hoo.

The driver, a 23-year-old woman, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed by firefighters.

Kent Air Ambulance was sent to the scene but the woman is not thought to have suffered serious injuries and was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment via land ambulance.

The crash happened shortly after 4pm on Saturday, September 5 close to the roundabout at Ropers Lane.
