Victim cut free after car crash in Pear Tree Lane, Hempstead, Gillingham

A driver had to be cut free after a car crash.

He was seriously injured and firefighters had to take the roof off to release him.

The car had crashed with a fence at Pear Tree Lane, Hempstead, Gillingham, in the early hours of this morning

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Two fire engines attended, and crews removed the roof of the vehicle to free one person, who was handed into the care of SECAmb paramedics.”

The fire brigade was called out at 4.34am and the crews were at the scene until exactly 5.37am.

A police spokesman said late this morning: “Kent Police was called at 4.17am today to reports that a car had collided with a fence on Pear Tree Lane, Gillingham.

“Officers are currently at the scene and the male driver has been taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.
