A woman had to be cut from her car this morning (Friday) after it overturned.
The crash in Walderslade Woods Road near the Bridgewood Manor Hotel, Chatham, occured just after 5am and involved two cars, a silver Vauxhall and a Ford Mondeo. The Vauxhall ended up on its roof.
Firefighters had to use hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the car's sides.
It is not believed the driver suffered serious injuries but she was taken to hospital by ambulance. Nobody else was injured in the collision.
Two Medway pumps were at the scene for an hour in order to free the woman just after the incident. They returned to their station at about 6am.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said: "The car was half on the road and half on the verge.
"There were quite a few police there and the road was closed off."
The road was closed to allow the two cars to be recovered and for debris to be cleared by Highways Agency staff.
Traffic from the M2 heading towards the Bridgewood roundabout was diverted back to the M2.
The road was re-opened at just after 9am.
Police said the cause of the collision was as yet unknown.
