Crash on Pier Road roundabout near Medway Tunnel and Maritime Way by Chatham Dockside and St Mary's Island

A crash involving a car and a motorbike on a busy roundabout has been causing delays this evening.

Police and paramedics were called to the junction between Maritime Way and Pier Road near the Medway Tunnel in Chatham.

Two ambulances were treating a patient.

It is believed a motorcyclist was injured after a collision with a car shortly before 7pm.

A group of bikers were standing on the side of the road as police were called to manage traffic.

It is not yet known if anyone suffered serious injuries or whether there were multiple casualties.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a car on Maritime Way, Chatham at 6.20pm

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and assisted with traffic management."

The ambulance service has been contacted for comment.
