Diesel spill in Chatham

Drivers experienced delays today (Wednesday) after a bus shed its load of diesel.

Around 90 litres of fuel spilled onto Palmerston Road in Chatham this morning.

Firefighters were called at 8.10am and used environmental equipment to ensure the diesel did not get into drains.

Police are on the scene to manage the traffic and the Highways Agency sent workers to grit the road to make it safe.
