Drivers facing delays as two lanes closed on M2 London-bound from Junction 3 at Chatham to Junction 2 near Rochester

Drivers have been facing rush-hour delays following a crash on the M2 this morning.

The accident happened on the London-bound carriageway between Junction 3 at Chatham to Junction 2 near Rochester.

National Highways says traffic conditions are not expected to return to normal on this section of the motorway until around 8am.

Two lanes were closed as a result of the accident, but they have now reopened and traffic is clearing.

A police spokeswoman said: “Kent Police was called at 6.17am on Thursday to a report of a collision involving a car between Junctions 3 and 2 of the London-bound M2.

“Officers attended to assist with clearing the road.

“Minor injuries have been reported.”
