Former Rochester Grammar School pupil Harriet Vine MBE stars in The Fantastical Factory of Curious Craft on Channel 4

A co-founder of successful jewellery firm Tatty Devine will star in a new Channel 4 show celebrating some of the nation's most creative crafters.

Harriet Vine grew up in Rochester and started the company with business partner Rosie Wolfenden in 1999 after leaving art school.

Now she will appear on our screens in The Fantastical Factory of Curious Craft, alongside hosts Keith Lemon and Anna Richardson.

The six-part series takes place in a surreal factory setting, and in each episode four crafters have to stick, sew, hammer and craft their unique creations into life.

In the first round the contestants will create a bespoke item in response to a fantastical brief from factory owner Keith.

Harriet and fellow craft expert Zak Khchai will then deliberate and help Keith decide on the three most impressive makes, whose creators will move on to round two.

The second challenge will see a celebrity guest commission the crafters to make the most fantastical creation of their lives before deciding which will be declared the winner of the show.

Host Keith, who studied art and design at Leeds College of Art before making it big on TV, said: "I've always had love for making things, drawing and painting.

"I’m also a very good dancer. But that’s for a different show.

"I honestly can't wait to get in that Fantastical World of Factory of curious craft to marvel at the mad skills of our crafters."

Harriet – who attended Rochester Grammar School – was recognised for services to the fashion industry when she was made an MBE in the 2012 New Year’s Honours List, along with co-founder Rosie.

The Fantastical Factory of Curious Craft airs on Channel 4 at 8pm tonight.
