Kent Fire and Rescue called to flat fire in King Street, Rochester

A fire broke out and was tackled by emergency services this afternoon.

Kent Fire and Rescue crew attended the incident in Weavers Court, King Street, Rochester, at around 1.40pm.

Three engines attended and they used breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to deal with the fire.

It was put out and crews left just before 3.30pm.

One neighbour said; "Luckily everyone on this floor was out during the fire.

"No one has been hurt and we're all okay.

"Apparently the fire was started by a tumble dryer."
