This includes Aylesford, Larkfield, New Hythe, Wouldham, North Halling, the Medway Towns, Medway City Estate, Upnor, Hoo, and Lower Halstow.

Flooding is expected to affect locations nearest the estuary, in particular around Lower Upnor and Canal Road, Strood and outer parts of the Medway Estuary between 1:15pm and 5:15pm.

Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides and it is recommended to stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as the expected large waves and sea spray will be dangerous.

Areas prone to flooding are also recommended to act on their flooding plan if they have one.

The warning has been issued due to the high tide forecast at 3:15pm this afternoon (January 15).

After this tide, the Environment Agency expects no further impacts as weather will settle.

The Thames Barrier will also be closing at midday.

Areas at risk of tidal flooding from Dartford to Allhallows, include Crayford, Greenhithe, Northfleet, Gravesend and the North Kent Marshes.

The warnings will either be removed or updated at 9pm this evening depending on their monitoring.
