Gillingham football club Hollands and Blair FC submit plans for new stands at Darland Avenue ground

Plans have gone in to kit out a football team with new seats for spectators.

Hollands and Blair FC, who play at Star Meadow Sports Club in Darland Avenue, Gillingham, have asked Medway Council if it can build two terraces for 150 fans.

The team play in the Southern Counties East Football League.

A report presented to the authority's planning department says the current terraces are in "a state of disrepair and now need replacing", adding the league requires the club to have 150 covered seats.

The plans are due to be considered by Wednesday, December 14.

In March, councillors gave approval for a new artificial 3G pitch at the site.

The plans also included two new dug outs, mesh nets behind the goals, eight cycle spaces, and 14 new parking spaces.

A planning statement said: "These terraces are ready made off site and then transported and installed by specialist companies. These new terraces would replace the existing terraces at the site which are now not fit for purpose due to deterioration in condition.

"The terraces are modular meaning they can easily be moved or added to at a later date.

"The terraces are usually delivered in one piece and are bolted to the ground (proposed hard standing area) meaning no heavy machinery or ground works is required to install the terracing.

"Only members of the public who have accessed the site will be able to use the seating as the proposed new terraces fall inside the Star Meadow Sports Club boundary."
