Four teens in court on suspicion of break-ins in Strood and Gillingham

Four young men are due in court after being charged in connection with six break-ins.

The targeted areas include Carnation Road and Columbine Road, Strood and Eastcourt Lane, Gillingham between July, 27 and July, 30.

Officers became suspicious of a car on the Wainscott Bypass at 4.20am on Thursday, August 1.

They arrested a group of teens, all from south east London, who were later charged.

A 17 year-old from Eltham was charged with conspiring to commit burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, fraud, aggravated taking of a motor vehicle without consent, driving without insurance or a licence and possession of a class B drug, on Friday, August 2.

He can not be named for legal reasons.

On the same day, the rest of the group, Madju Bari, 19, Nathan James, 18, and Ryan Kennedy, 19, all from Bermondsey, were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.

All were remanded in custody and appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Saturday, August 3.

The 17 year-old was remanded in custody and will appear at Medway Youth Court today.

At the hearing Bari, James and Kennedy were bailed to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, September 2.
