Fire near Great Lines Heritage Park in Gillingham

The fire service has been called to a grass fire near a busy park.

Two engines were called to the blaze near Great Lines, Gillingham, at around 2.10pm.

Firefighters spent about an hour working to put out the fire in the high temperatures.

Crews left the scene at 3.10pm after using hose reel jets and beaters to extinguish the flames.

No one was injured.
