Medway Maritime Hospital to close car park one for resurfacing works

A visitor car park at Medway Maritime Hospital will be closed this weekend as essential resurfacing work is carried out.

Industrial machinery will be on site from tonight (Friday) and car park one will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Patients and visitors will be able to use car park two, with 270 spaces, instead with overflow parking in staff car park C. Extra security staff and signage will help direct visitors, patients and staff.

As part of the hospital’s ongoing improvement programme, further resurfacing works are scheduled to take place on the hospital perimeter road on Saturday, 30 July and Sunday, 31 July. This should not have any impact on car parking.

Work on the main road outside A&E to improve access for ambulances is also due to be completed this week and will allow the next phase of the emergency department’s redevelopment to begin.

A hospital spokesman said: “Medway Maritime Hospital would like to apologise for any inconvenience that has been caused as a result of these works.”
