A spokesman said: “We are sorry to announce that the Joe Longthorne show scheduled for Thursday, October 29, has to be rescheduled due to Joe still recovering from his cancer treatment.

"Joe himself apologises for this but the doctors have told him he must continue to rest.

“Joe would like to thank you all for your prayers and understanding, and it won’t be long until he is back on stage performing as Joe loves to do.

“Joe is also looking forward to coming back to the Britannia Theatre in the new year, for a rescheduled performance, on Thursday March 17.”

The Britannia Theatre has apologised for any inconvenience and passed on their best wishes to Mr Longthorne and are excited about welcoming him to the Britannia in 2016.
