Collins is believed to have connections in Ashford, but his Facebook site says he lives in Rainham in Medway, is from Maidstone and went to school in Sutton Valence.

According to local sources, he was behind the wheel of a rented Audi Q7 when he is said to have hit a VW Polo which had stopped at a set of traffic lights.

Fishermen Graziano Battistelli, 52, and Marco Iampieri, 41, died in the crash. One of them was said to have been decapitated.
