The photo sessions are over; now it's time to vote.

The first of our Kids Galore picture galleries was published in the print edition of the Medway Messenger on Friday (March 27).

We expect that it will take us eight weeks to publish the photographs of the 1004 youngsters in the competition. They will not appear in any particular order, so parents will have to keep a close eye on the Medway Messenger to ensure they don’t miss their chance to vote.

Once again, Kent’s biggest baby competition, sponsored by Hempstead Valley shopping centre, has attracted more than 1,000 entries.

There are cash prizes totalling £3,500 to be won.

David Jones, the Medway Messenger’s deputy editor, said: “The response to the competition has been fantastic. I’d like to thank Hempstead Valley for once again supporting the competition and photographer Melvin Sillcock, who did a splendid job in taking all those photographs, especially the babies who often didn’t want to look in the right direction.”
