Lorry and fuel tanker crash led to queuing traffic for three miles on M2 between Gillingham and Sittingbourne

A crash between a lorry and a fuel tanker was causing queuing traffic for three miles on the M2 eastbound carriageway earlier.

The accident took place between Junction 4 for Gillingham, and Junction 5 for the A249 in Sittingbourne.

One lane, which was closed due to debris and spillage of radiator coolant, has now re-opened and the accident has been cleared.

Congestion to the A249 was also queuing on the northbound approach.
