A road was closed when a lorry shed about 300 litres of diesel in Chatham.

The vehicle experienced mechanical problems in Revenge Road at about 11am yesterday.

Firefighters mopped up the spillage and ensured the diesel did not enter any nearby drains.

The crew remained at the scene until 3.30pm and handed the containers of diesel to Medway Council's environmental health team.
