Delays on M2 London bound in Medway following crash and oil spillage have now cleared

The M2 at Medway is now fully reopened following a crash and oil spillage early this morning.

Three cars were involved in a collision on the London-bound stretch between J3 for Chatham/Rochester and J2 for Strood/Rochester which happened at 4.55am.

The motorway was closed initially and a diversion put in place, but re-opened at 7.10am with one lane still blocked, causing delays for drivers heading towards the Medway bridge. It has now fully re-opened.

The incident was attended by police, highways officers, fire crews and paramedics.

One driver was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
