Man released on bail after 'paedophile hunters' COST and STOP sting in Gillingham

A 48-year-old man has been released on bail after a video emerged of him being caught by so-called paedophile hunters.

Members of Child Online Safety Team (COST) assisted STOP, another online group, and confronted the man in Gillingham, sharing the encounter on Facebook live.

They accused him of sending sexually explicit photos to someone who he allegedly thought was a 12-year-old girl.

A spokesman from COST said: "We brought him out of the house on the pretence he had a parcel to pick up.

"We made a citizen's arrest and then waited for the police to arrive."
