Medway: One taken to hospital after a crash on the M2 London bound between J3 and J2 near Rochester

Ambulance crews attended to 10 patients and took one to hospital after a multiple vehicle collision involving a police car.

The crash happened on the London bound carriageway between J3 A229 (Chatham / Rochester) and J2 Medway Bridge (Strood / Rochester) last night at around 5.30pm

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving but he was released pending further inquiries.

SECAMB spokesman Rich Airey said: "We sent three ambulances and one car to the scene.

"There were ten patients that we needed to check over, we would describe them as the walking wounded.

"We also took one person to Medway Maritime Hospital, their injuries were not described as serious."

Police closed the road for several hours, all vehicles were moved onto the hard shoulder by 8.12pm and were recovered by 8.36pm.

The road reopened last night at 8.30pm.
