Man recovering after being stabbed and found injured in Mill Road, Gillingham, as four remain in custody

A man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed during an argument in Gillingham yesterday morning.

Police and paramedics found a 28-year-old man injured after being called to Mill Road, near Medway Park, at about 11.45am.

He was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

Officers say the man, who has not been named but is from London, was injured in Victoria Street near Gillingham Railway Station, but he was found in Mill Road.

He was treated by paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service for a head injury, before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital nearby.

Police closed Mill Road for several hours after the incident and arrested four people.

Two men aged 24 and 28 and two women aged 18 and 19, who are all from the London area, are still in custody today.

The road re-opened shortly before 3.30pm and a Silver Fiat 500X parked in Brompton Road, thought to be associated with the incident, was seized by police.
