Road closed and man taken to hospital after two-car collision in Maidstone Road, Rochester

One man has been taken to hospital after two cars were involved in a smash last night in Rochester.

Emergency crews were called to Maidstone Road, near the Rochester Health Club, at 6.26pm on Saturday night.

Police, ambulance and fire rescue teams attended.

Spokesperson for Kent Police, Scarlett Drayson, said: "A man reported injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

"The road was closed in order to recover vehicles and for carriageway clearance, but reopened by around midnight."

KFRS were called to the scene at 7.11pm to assist with clearing the road.

Spokesperson for the fire service, Anna Young, said: "One fire engine attended and firefighters helped to make the scene safe.

"On arrival, all persons were out of their vehicles and in the care of ambulance crews."
