Man who smashed into a junction box on Albemarle Road, Lordswood, suffered head injuries and residents were left without internet access

A man was taken to hospital with head injuries after crashing into a junction box late last night.

The silver car smashed into the box on Albemarle Road, in Lordswood, at 11.15pm.

The driver's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The damage left people in the area without internet access, with wires and exposed cables pulled out all over the pavement.

Virgin Media technicians were at the roadside on Sunday repairing the damage.
