Man taken to hospital after four-vehicle smash on A2 near Pepper Hill slip road

A motorist was taken to hospital early today following a crash involving a lorry and three other vehicles on the A2.

The emergency services were called to the coast-bound carriageway on the Watling Street stretch of the road near the Pepper Hill slip road, shortly after 5am. As well as the HGV, a van and two cars were involved.

Firefighters from Thames-side, along with paramedics and police dealt with the incident and a man was taken to hospital with what is thought to have been minor injuries.

A police spokesman said: “The carriageway was closed for a period of time while the vehicles were moved and recovered.”
