Emma McCarthy, from Shorne, donates Christmas tree to the NSPCC centre in Gillingham

A mum-of-three has answered a charity's Christmas wish to help brighten Christmas time for youngsters who have been abused.

Just hours after staff at the NSPCC centre in West Street, Gillingham, appealed for help to replace their broken tree Emma McCarthy from Shorne popped into the centre to give them a new one.

Colin Peak, south east head of service, said: “After only a few short hours of appealing for a new Christmas tree here at our Gillingham centre, a lady kindly donated this 7ft one.

"We have decorated it and placed the tree in our reception for all to enjoy. We would like to thank our kind donor for her generosity and helping us to spread the Christmas cheer for staff and visiting children.”
