A list of candidates vying to become councillors in two by-elections has been published.

The elections will take place for the Strood North and Princes Park wards of Medway on Thursday, August 26.

The polls were called following the deaths of Conservative councillors Cllr Steve Iles and Cllr Tashi Bhutia.

In Strood North, those standing are: Cat Jamieson (Green), Mark Joy (Conservative), Chris Spalding (Independent), Zoe van Dyke (Labour) and Alan Wells (Lib Dem).

In Princes Park, the candidates are: John Castle (Lib Dem), Matt Durcan (Independent), Sonia Hyner (Green), Robbie Lammas (Conservative) and John Strevens (Labour)
