Traffic easing after overturned car on M2 coast-bound between Chatham and Gillingham caused delays

Motorists faced delays this morning after a car overturned on the M2.

Police were called at 7.30am to reports two vehicles had collided, causing one to flip onto its side.

Two lanes of the coast-bound carriageway between junction 3 for Chatham and junction 4 for Gillingham were closed until just after 9am.

The driver of the car managed to get out of the vehicle before firefighters arrived at the scene, and is being treated by the ambulance service.

Highways officers were also at the scene.

It is not known if anybody was seriously injured in the crash.
