Two men in court after crash with two police cars in Quinion Close, Walderslade

Two suspected burglars have appeared in court after a break-in and a crash with two police cars.

Officers were called to reports of a burglary taking place in City Way, Rochester, at around 1.40pm on Friday.

A white pick-up truck was seen leaving the scene.

The same vehicle then allegedly collided with two police cars and a wall before being discovered abandoned in Quinion Close, Walderslade.

Following inquires, Patrick Connors, 37, of Ripple Road, Barking, East London and John Smith, 34, of Old Gloucester Road, Winterbourne in Gloucestershire, were arrested in connection with incident.

Both men were charged with burglary, handling stolen goods and dangerous driving the next day. They appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday and were remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on November 18.
