A pile-up forced the closure of a section of motorway at the height of rush-hour.

Six vehicles crashed on the M2 London-bound between junctions 5 for Sittingbourne and 4 for Gillingham just after 8am.

Police remain at the scene and the vehicles have now been moved to the hard shoulder.

One person has reported a minor injury.

The carriageway has now reopened.
