Police bail a fifth man after arrest in connection with 'stabbing' in Gillingham

Officers investigating a stabbing in the Victoria Street area of Gillingham have made a fifth arrest.

Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service were called shortly after 11.45am on Sunday 12 February 2017.

A 28-year-old man from London had suffered cuts to his head and body that are believed to have been caused by a "bladed object".

He was found injured in Mill Road, near Medway Park, and was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

On Monday, officers arrested a 47-year-old man from Gillingham in connection with the incident, and he has now been bailed pending further inquiries until Wednesday, March 22.

Two other men aged 24 and 28 and two women aged 18 and 19, all from London, have been released on bail pending further inquiries until Tuesday, April 25.
