Power off in 2,300 homes

A power cut hit 2,322 homes in Rainham.
The blackout was triggered by a fault at a sub-station in the Edwin Road area late yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.
UK Power Networks engineers re-routed power to most customers within two minutes. Supplies to the remaining households were connected between 6.27pm and 8.20pm.

One Rainham resident said: "We were without power for about an hour"
A spokesman said:"We recognise the inconvenience caused by any power interruption and apologise to those affected."
