Police and ambulance crews called to crash in Luton Road, Chatham

Two women were taken to hospital after a crash in Chatham this morning.

Emergency services were called after a silver Vauxhall Astra and a Skoda Fabia crashed in Luton Road just before 5am.

Police and ambulance crews were sent and the road was closed off to recover the vehicles.

Two women were treated at the scene, one was suffering from chest and abdomen pain. Both were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for further treatment.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called at 4.54am to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Luton Road, Chatham.

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service. Minor injuries were reported.

"The road was closed while the incident was dealt with."

The road reopened at around 6.30am.
