Rochester Bridge reopened after 10-hour closure amid fears for man

Rochester Bridge was finally reopened at 5am this morning after concerns over the safety of a man .

Police and emergency teams were called to the A2 at around 7.15pm on Friday night, closing the bridge in both directions and putting a cordon in place from The Esplanade.

The man was spoken to by officers and taken into the care of health teams.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Emergency services attended the scene and, after officers spoke to the man, he was placed into the care of health professionals."

The road was finally reopened at 5am on Saturday.
