Roundabout on the A289 Gads Hill in Gillingham closed after trailer sheds load of hay

A roundabout was closed after a load of hay fell from a trailer this morning.

Several bales of hay were left blocking the carriageway at Grange roundabout on the A289 Gads Hill in Gillingham following the incident at around 10am.

Police were called to the scene and closed the roundabout.

Two men were also at the site, working to clear the fallen load of hay.

A statement from Kent Police said: "Kent Police officers managed the traffic and helped to remove a number of hay bales that fell from a tractor trailer on Grange Roundabout, Gillingham, shortly before 10.35am on Monday July 18.

"The road was clear by around 12.30pm."
