Chatham children's outfitters School Time is on the move

The new term will see a new home for School Time, a children's school uniform shop.

By the end of the month, the store is transferring from its current location in Railway Street, Chatham, to a new spot in the High Street, on the corner with Medway Street.

It is taking over the premises formerly occupied by Penguins Suits, the tailor's shop previously known as Newcombs, until May last year.

School Time started as a business run by Diane Bathe from home in 1989 but opened its first store in 1995 after Chatham's previous school outfitters, Kinch and Lack, went out of business.

School Time was the Medway Retailer of the Year in 1996.

The move has been forced by plans to redevelop the current site.

The shop stocks uniform for more than 40 schools, including Strood Academy, St John Fisher, Bradfields Academy and Fort Pitt Grammar School, as well as dance wear and supplies for Rainbows, Brownies and Guides groups.
