Nathan Cooper, of Commissioners Road in Strood, charged with burglary at Cut Thru Studios in Tolgate Lane

A second man has been charged after a salon was broken into.

The Cut Thru Studios in Tolgate Lane has been burgled twice in less than two weeks.

Mark Dunn, 38, of no fixed address, was charged on Saturday in relation to the incident on Saturday, April 1.

Owner Jenny O’Neill has been camping out overnight at her salon in a bid to foil raiders.

Miss O’Neill, 31, said: “I have built my business up from scratch over five years and am determined to protect it.”

In the first burglary, on March 21, thieves smashed through a bathroom window and then ransacked the office, ripped the safe off the wall, snatched tip money and damaged chairs.

Dunn appeared before Medway magistrates on Monday where he received a suspended sentence.

Detectives have now charged Nathan Cooper, of Commissioners Road in Strood, with a burglary at the salon on Tuesday, March 21.

The 45-year-old has been bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 2.
