Serious assault at the Eagle Tavern in Rochester

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after an assault at a pub.

The man was attacked just before midnight in the Eagle Tavern in Rochester High Street last night.

Detectives want to hear from witnesses to help their inquiries.

South East Coast Ambulance service confirmed that they sent a response car and ambulance to an unconscious patient at 12.30am, who they took to Medway Maritime Hospital.

The man was later taken to a hospital in London for treatment.

The Eagle Tavern has declined to comment on the incident.
