Two men from Gillingham have admitted kidnapping a man found in a car boot by police.

Stephen Bates, 31, of Balmoral Road, and Kamran Kamali, 38, of Chaucer Road, pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court.

Police were called to Chatham Hill on September 27, after reports that a man had been forced into the boot of a car.

A call to police was received from a man who claimed he was in the boot of a car, but the call was disconnected before full details could be obtained.

Local patrols located a car in Green Street, Gillingham, and a man was then found in the boot.

The pair will be sentenced later this month.
