Strood toddler trapped in toilet seat

A toddler was cut free by firefighters after getting trapped in a toilet seat.

A crew from Strood fire station were called to Hollywood Lane in the town at 10.45am on Thursday.

A two-year-old boy had managed to get a plastic child’s toilet seat stuck on his head.

A spokesman for the station said: “His mum had tried for a while to get it off and as a last resort called us. She called the station at first but we had to tell her to re-dial 999.

“The little boy was crying but we managed to distract him with sweets and the TV while we cut the toilet seat off with some tin cutters. He was fine as soon as we had got it off.”
