Traffic was blocked for more than an hour after a Subaru Impreza crashed on the A2 in Chatham town centre.

Police were called at 2.05pm yesterday after the black car, with red stripes and a rear spoiler, crossed the central reservation and hit a lorry in New Road.

The Gillingham-bound carriageway of the A2 was blocked until just before 3.15pm.

No-one was reported injured, including the driver, a man thought to have been in his 20s.

Police said no-one has currently been arrested.

Martin's School of Motoring owner Martin Philbrick, who took this photo, was heading to a driving lesson when the crash happened.

He said: "I was about 10 cars away and there was chaos. Police spent a long time talking to the driver and his passenger."
