Aldi supermarket, Gillingham, closed for 'medical incident'

A supermarket in Medway had to be closed for a medical emergency.

The Aldi store in Duncan Road, Gillingham, was shut today for emergency crews to deal with the incident. (Dec 5)

It was reported customers were asked to leave the store at around 1.45pm.

Witnesses were said to have counted up to three ambulances and five police cars at the scene.

An area of the car park was cordoned off as shoppers left the store.

It is understood the branch remained shut for the rest of the afternoon.

One customer said: "We were all asked to get our shopping asap as they were closing and police and ambulance were outside tapping it off.

"I do hope everyone is ok."

A police spokesman said: "Officers were assisting with a medical incident."
