Man due in court charged with stealing a car in Strood and dangerous driving

A man is due in court charged with stealing a car and dangerous driving.

Officers stopped a Honda Civic just after 1.40am yesterday after it was seen in Knight Road, Strood.

The car had been reported stolen at 1.15am from a home in Inner Lines, Gillingham.

Connor Robinson, 26, from Graham Close, Gillingham, has been charged with driving a vehicle without consent, driving without a licence, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and failing to give a specimen for analysis under the Road Traffic Act.

He was also charged for a separate offence of theft from a shop in Chatham on May 27.

He remains in custody and will appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Four men aged 25, 29, 31 and 40, who were arrested in connection with the incident have been released without charge.
