It is understood officers are at the scene managing a rolling road block until the vehicle can be removed and motorists are using just one lane of the duel carriageway.

A spokesman for police said: "Kent Police was called at 10.40am on Monday, July 18, to a report of a large broken down vehicle on Yokosuka Way, Gillingham.

"Officers are in attendance and one lane has been closed to allow the vehicle to be recovered.

"Traffic is expected to be heavier than usual due to the lane closure currently in place."
