A Medway teacher has appeared at Maidstone Crown Court accused of committing sex offences with a girl.

Clive Gibson, who taught at a Rainham school, is charged with three offences of sexual assault and two of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

The 52-year-old, of Bredhurst Road, Wigmore, indicated he would be pleading not guilty when he returns to court on February 18.

A trial date was set for April 11.
